About the role

The Advanced Analytics Specialist at TSB will use data to drive strategic decisions and improve performance.  The role will play a critical role in shaping how TSB detects and responds to emerging threats.  You’ll use advanced analytics and domain insights to:

  • Proactively surface fraud and AML red flags and trends.
  • Improve the effectiveness of our transaction monitoring and detection systems.
  • Build predictive models and tools to help prioritise risk and interventions.
  • Drive data-informed enhancements to customer protection strategies.

This is a high-impact, high-visibility role at the heart of a fast-evolving priority area.

Who are you?

You’re a data-driven problem solver with an eye for patterns, anomalies, and continuous improvement opportunities. Key responsibilities that you will be required to deliver is to analyse data, develop predictive models, detect fraud, ensure compliance, and enhance customer experience.

To enable you to be successful, you will require proficiency in programming languages like SQL and Python, with machine learning expertise being an advantage.

You will need to know your way around complex datasets and can tell compelling, actionable stories with numbers. This will require strong analytical, judgment, and problem-solving skills.

The ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment is important, and you will have the skill to articulate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Engage with business users to understand their challenges and approaches.
  • Identify machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions to support decision-making.
  • Build and test predictive or prescriptive models to support to extract maximum value from data.
  • Diagnose root causes of issues and recommending solutions to enhance business processes, resulting in increased operational efficiency.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or related discipline.
  • Experience or interest in fraud, AML, or financial crime data analysis.
  • Minimum 1 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education/work.
  • Experience with at least one data science package and at least one programming language.
  • Knowledge of BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
