Who are you?
We’re looking for an exceptional IT professional to join our Technology Services team as a Platform Engineer on a permanent full-time basis.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for providing scalable and resilient systems to enable Product teams to deliver services for our internal staff and customers.
This will involve the implementation of well-designed systems and identifying technology/process improvement opportunities with a bias toward the reduction of risks to availability, latency and efficiency while enabling self-service for customers.
Systems include public cloud and software development platforms such as Gitlab. Your availability and integrity are paramount, as you’ll take responsibility to ensure these critical services are always operational. Your ability to see the “big picture” and offer suggestions will be highly valued, as you assist and contribute to the strategic direction of the TSB’s platforms, systems and services.
Role specific areas of responsibility:
- Participate in day-to-day BAU activities including Request Management, Incident Management and Change Management to maintain scalability, stability and security of platforms
- Contribute to the planning and execution of continual improvement initiatives and projects.
- Adopt to and actively support TSB Technology’s ways of working by understanding and embracing basic principles of various IT delivery models.
- Provide and maintain a robust platform for which teams will provide staff and customer facing services upon.
- Contribute to systems design with a bias toward the reduction of risks to availability, latency and efficiency.
- Contribute to the implementation of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and practices across the IT organisation.
- Actively seek out the reduction of toil by automating and/or eliminating repetitive tasks using Infrastructure as Code.
- Contribute to security management, specifically, ensuring a secure platform for consumers.
- Add to the team’s shared documentation resources by writing clear support process and procedures, best practices or other pertinent information.
- Provide expert hands-on engineering technical support and guidance. This includes participating in a 24 x 7 on-call roster as required.
We are looking for candidates who have:
- 3+ years commercial experience as systems admin, platform engineer or similar role
- Experience including but not limited to administration, design of Azure, AWS and VMware environments.
- Skilled in Infrastructure as Code tooling such as Terraform, Bicep and Ansible.
- Solid experience managing applications, but not limited to, infrastructure such as container run times, API gateways, log aggregation tools and secret management services.
- Skilled in managing both Windows and Linux operating systems and applications.
- Experience with F5 LTM and GTM will be advantageous
