About the role

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for driving commercial success through strong business relationships? TSB is seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to lead the way in managing and expanding partnerships with high-value clients and the broader business community.

In this influential role, you’ll be responsible for shaping and executing engagement strategies that foster long-term relationships, enhance client retention, and unlock new growth opportunities. Your ability to connect, influence, and deliver results will be key to supporting TSB’s commercial ambitions.

Bringing deep expertise and commercial acumen, you’ll help balance risk and reward to create sustainable value for both TSB and our customers. This role is central to achieving our strategic goals, delivering impactful outcomes and helping shape the future of banking in Aotearoa.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Lead and grow a portfolio of high-value commercial clients, driving new business, strengthening existing relationships, and supporting TSB’s strategic goals.
  • Proactively identify and pursue new opportunities through targeted networking and a well-managed pipeline of prospects.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to uncover revenue opportunities and raise awareness of TSB’s offerings.
  • Develop tailored strategies and solutions that align with clients’ business goals and industry needs, delivering value for both the client and the bank.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform timely, strategic decisions.
  • Support team development by sharing expertise and providing guidance to help deliver outstanding customer outcomes.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services Level 5 or equivalent qualification
  • 10+ years in a banking / financial services with at least 5 years working in a commercial finance role
  • Advanced relationship and financial assessment skills, and in-depth financial and risk analysis capability.
  • Proven interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication, discovery, networking and sales capability 
  • A high level of commercial acumen and strong understanding of industry trends.
