Senior Quality Assurance Engineer
New Plymouth/ Auckland/ Wellington
Fixed Term Full Time

We’re seeking a Senior QA Engineer with a strong grasp of HTTP and API fundamentals, including hands-on experience with both REST and SOAP APIs.
The ideal candidate will be proficient in designing, developing, and maintaining robust automation frameworks for UI and API testing.
Expertise in UI test automation using tools like Selenium, Playwright, or similar is essential.

You’ll also bring competence in integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using platforms such as Git, Jenkins, or GitLab. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are a must, with a keen eye for edge cases and comprehensive test coverage. Experience in mobile automation is a plus. 

About the Role

You’ll be joining a dedicated and ambitious team of Quality Assurance Engineers playing a key role in shaping the future of our platforms through robust testing and engineering practices.
As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, you’ll contribute to solution planning and delivery, optimisation of systems quality and service. 

You will work closely with our wider Technology Services team using your awareness and experience of agile architecture frameworks, documentation and modelling. You will be required to have a hands-on attitude, demonstrate strong leader ability and proven facilitation and negotiation skills.

Your responsibilities will also include:

• Ensure security, performance and data integrity standards are upheld.
• Lead the definition and refinement of user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Actively contribute to quality assurance and user acceptance testing activities
• Contribute to the training and education of peers, business units and stakeholders.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need: 

• 5+ years’ experience as a Test Automation Engineer.
• 3+ years’ automation testing within cross-functional Agile Teams
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, system analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated commercial experience in API-Led web & mobile app ecosystems.
